Another 20% noted that they simply would not be able to compete with large online retailers, which makes online development pointless.

Between January and March 2020, Russia imported 60.4 bln RUB worth of ready-made pharmaceuticals (customs clearance prices, VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 52% lower than that of the same period in 2019. Russia is still using the volumes imported to Russia last year as part of the preparation for the introduction of the labeling system. However, the dynamics of the in-bulk import are +10%, with the volume of 33.1 bln RUB.

Between January and February 2020, Russia imported 2.46 bln RUB worth of veterinary drugs (customs clearance prices), which is monetary terms (rubles) 37% lower than that of the same period in 2019. The import volume of feed supplements amounted to 4.35 bln RUB, with the dynamics of -20%. As for veterinary APIs, the import volume is 306 mln RUB, and the dynamics are -14%.

Between January and February 2020, Russia imported 22.6 bln RUB worth of APIs (customs clearance prices, VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 18.5% higher than that of the same period in 2019. The dynamics in physical terms are +31%, with 2.2 thousand tons of APIs.

Between January and February 2020, Russia imported 27 bln RUB worth of ready-made pharmaceuticals (customs clearance prices), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 65% lower than that of the same period in 2019. The import volume of the first two months of 2020 turned out to be lower than that of any January, when the activity of the importers is usually the lowest. The dynamics of the in-bulk import in monetary terms are +28%, with the volume of 22.5 bln RUB.

Another 2% expect that prices rises will decrease demand for “useless” drugs (vitamins, probiotics, etc.).

Vaccines were the most imported veterinary product in 2019, accounting for 45% of the total import in monetary terms, which has not changed much in recent years. The dynamics are high, but far from record-worthy, as there has been three better results in the last 10 years. The dynamics in physical terms (units) are +43.8%, with 9.4 bln units.

In 2019, Russia imported 18.4 bln RUB worth (customs clearance prices, VAT included) of pharmaceutical drugs for clinical trials (CT), or 862 thousand units. While the dynamics in monetary terms have reached a historic high and are +7.6%, the dynamics in physical terms are much higher (+19.4%) but at the same time nearly thrice lower than those in 2014.
