10/29/2020 Veterinary Vaccine Import to Russia (September and Q1 – Q3 2020)
Vaccines, the most important group of veterinary drugs, take up nearly 45% of the total import of veterinary products in monetary terms. Between January and September 2020, Russia imported more than RUB 10.55 bln worth of veterinary vaccines (customs clearance included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 13.8% higher than in 2019. At the same time, the dynamics of veterinary import are only +7%.
10/28/2020 Veterinary API Import to Russia (September and Q1 – Q3 2020)
Between January and September 2020, Russia imported RUB 1.91 bln worth of veterinary APIs (customs clearance and VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 22% lower than in 2019. In physical terms, the import volume amounts to 802 tons, with the dynamics of -26%.
10/27/2020 Import of Veterinary Drugs and Fed Supplements to Russia (September and Q1 – Q3 2020)
The dynamics of the import of veterinary drugs in monetary terms (rubles) in September have surged to +30%, when in July and August they were -1-2%. Between January and September, Russia imported RUB 23.7 bln worth of veterinary drugs (customs clearance and VAT included), which is in monetary terms 6.5% higher than in 2019. As for feed supplements, the September dynamics are -1.2%, which is good news after -18.4% in August. The import volume for the period between January and September amounts to RUB 30.2 bln, with the dynamics of +12.4%.

Between January and September 2020, Russia imported RUB 120.2 bln worth of APIs (customs clearance and VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 22% lower than in 2019. The import volume in physical terms (tons) amounted to 10.9 thousand tons, with the dynamics of +14%.
10/26/2020 Survey by RNC Pharma and Medvestnik: 55% of Russian Doctors Say Their Income Has Dropped due to COVID-19 Pandemic
12% of doctors note that their income has sharply decreased as a result of the coronavirus epidemic, according to a survey by the RNC Pharma analyst company and the website for Russian doctors Medvestnik. The reasons may be different, in particular, forced vacation, dismissal, etc. Another 37% of the respondents say that their earnings have just “significantly decreased.” Finally, another 6% say that while their income has grown, it is disproportionate to the increase in the workload, which is, in this case, still as a salary reduction. In total, 55% of the respondents have faced a decrease in income.

Between January and September 2020, Russia imported RUB 359.3 bln worth of ready-made pharmaceutical drugs (customs clearance and VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 22% lower than in 2019. The dynamics of the in-bulk import are +9%.

Between January and September 2020, the stagnating sales of veterinary drugs in the retail market amounted to RUB 15.97 bln (retail prices, VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 0.3% lower than in 2019. The volume in physical terms is 144.4 bln minimum dosage units (MDU), which is 0.3% higher than in 2019.

Between January and August 2020, Russia imported RUB 20.9 bln worth of veterinary drugs (customs clearance and VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 4% higher than in 2019. The import volume of feed supplements amounted to RUB 27.2 mln, with the dynamics of +14%.

Between January and August 2020, Russia imported RUB 110.1 bln worth of APIs (customs clearance and VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 29% higher than in 2019. The dynamics in physical terms (tons) are +18%, with the import volume of 9.8 thousand tons.
10/14/2020 Pharmaceutical Drug Import to Russia (August 2020)
Between January and August 2020, Russia imported RUB 314 bln worth of ready-made drugs (customs clearance and VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 21% lower than in 2019. This year the import dynamics are practically determined by administrative procedures associated with the launch of the labeling system, not so much by the demand situation since the launch has completely changed the usual seasonal behavior of participants in foreign economic activity for most of the mass-market drugs. These trends were much less relevant for in-bulk drugs, with the dynamics of +17.4% in monetary terms and the import volume of RUB 89.4 bln.
