Between January and May 2020, the sales of veterinary drugs in the retail market amounted to 8.9 bln RUB (retail prices, VAT included). While the dynamics in monetary terms (rubles) are only +0.9%, sales got back to normal in May after April’s devastating results (the dynamics for the period between January and April were +0.6%). If calculated in minimum dosage units (MDU), the market volume is 82.4 mln MDUs, with the dynamics of +3.4%.

53% of doctors believe that the coronavirus epidemic in Russia has not yet ended, according to a survey by the RNC Pharma analyst company and the Doktor Na Rabote (Doctor at Work) social media service for doctors. That is why it is too early to make predictions about the beginning of the so-called “second wave” of the disease. Here, we can also see some serious gender differences; 59% of the female and only in 35% the male respondents do not think the epidemic has ended.

Between January and May 2020, Russia manufactured 189.1 bln RUB worth of pharmaceutical drugs (manufacturers’ dispatch prices, VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 20% higher than in 2019. The dynamics in physical terms (units) are +8.2% (1.88 bln units). If calculated in minimum dosage units (MDU), the dynamics are +11.7% (33.2 bln MDUs).

Between January and April 2020, Russia imported 56.7 bln RUB worth of APIs (customs clearance and VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 60% higher than in 2019. While the average price per 1 kg has increased by nearly 30% (to 12.8 thousand RUB, customs clearance and VAT included), the dynamics in physical terms (kg) are +23%, with the import amounting to 4.4 thousand tons.
