12/26/2018 Database Update: Pharmaceutical Drug Production in Russia (November 2018)

Between January and November 2018, Russia produced 305.1 bln RUB worth of pharmaceutical drugs (dispatch prices, VAT included), which is in monetary terms 1.1% higher than that of the same period of 2017. In physical terms, the dynamics are -5.6%, with 3.85 bln units.

12/24/2018 Database Update: Import of Veterinary Drugs, Feed Supplements, and APIs to Russia (October 2018)

Between January and October 2018, Russia imported 52.9 bln RUB worth of veterinary products (free circulation prices), which is in monetary terms 14 higher than that of the same period of 2017. Feed supplements have the biggest import volume, with 30.4 bln RUB and +15%. They are followed by veterinary drugs, with 20.9 bln RUB and +12.8%. Veterinary APIs are the last, with 1.6 bln RUB and + 11.7%.

12/23/2018 Database Update: Pharmaceutical Drug Export from Russia (August 2018)

Between January and August 2017, Russia exported 13.8 bln RUB worth of pharmaceutical drugs (excluding exports to the EEU countries), which is in monetary terms 7.5% higher than that of the same period of 2017. The dynamics in physical terms are -6%, with 0.32 bln units of pharmaceuticals. If calculated in minimum dosage units (MDU), the dynamics are also negative, -11.5%.

12/21/2018 Database Update: API Import to Russia (October 2018)

Between January and October 2018, Russia imported 78.5 bln RUB worth of APIs (free circulation prices, VAT included), which is in monetary terms 29% higher than that of the same period of 2017. The current dynamics can only be explained by higher prices, because the dynamics in physical terms are -7.3% (9.4 tons of APIs.)

12/19/2018 Database Update: Pharmaceutical Drug Import to Russia (October 2018) December 19, 2018

Between January and October 2018, Russia imported 427.1 bln RUB worth of ready-made pharmaceutical drugs (free circulation prices), which is in monetary terms 1.5% higher than that of the same period of 2017, and 87.9 bln RUB worth of in-bulk pharmaceuticals, which is in monetary terms 12.5% higher than that of the same period of 2017. In total, the dynamics in monetary terms are +3.2%.

The current state of the Russian retail market is highlighted by a growing number of foreign retailers that have exited the market this year. In February, it was Finnish K-Rauta, then German Media Markt, and finally, at the end of the year, French-British Castorama. Not every company has exited; instead, German Metro Cash & Carry has taken a desperate step by starting to give out customer cards to everyone, while it used to give out those cards only to employees of legal entities that had a corresponding contract with the company.

Between January and October 2018, Russia produced 276.2 mln RUB worth of pharmaceutical drugs (dispatch prices, VAT included), which is in monetary terms 1.9% higher than that of the same period of 2017. The positive dynamics are mostly due to the active work of manufacturers. In physicals terms though, Russia produced 3.3 bln units of pharmaceuticals, which is 9.4% lower than that of the same period of 2017.
