Between January and November 2019, Russia manufactured 383.9 bln RUB worth of pharmaceutical drugs (manufacturer’s prices, VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 25.8% higher than the production volume in 2018. In physical terms, the production volume is 4.1 bln units, or 67.2 bln minimum dosage units (MDU). The dynamics in physical terms are +6.5% in units and +5.3% in MDU.

12/30/2019 Survey by RNC Pharma and Doktor Na Rabote (Doctor at Work): Only 5% of Doctors Find Statistics by Ministry of Health on Average Salaries Believable

The vast majority of doctors (92%) consider the official statistics of the Ministry of Health and Rosstat on average salaries not reliable, according to an online survey by the RNC Pharma analyst company and the Doktor Na Rabote (Doctor at Work) social media service for doctors. Around 37% of the respondents consider the official statistics to be completely unreliable, believing that the figures provided by Ministry of Health are “several times” higher than the real ones.

Between January and September 2019, Russia exported 32.5 bln RUB worth of pharmaceutical drugs (customs duties included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 22.4% higher than that of the same in 2018. The two-digit growth rates have been registered since 2018 (the dynamics in 2018 were +16.1%). The dynamics in physical terms (units) are +6.7%, with 653 mln units.

35% of doctors believe that the main cause of medical errors are “excessive workloads”, followed by “failures of the healthcare system”, according to an online survey by the RNC Pharma analyst company and the Doktor Na Rabote (Doctor at Work) social media service for doctors. However, excessive workloads are also a direct result of the improper organization of the healthcare system.

The Russia market of veterinary products consists of two main segments: households’ purchases and agricultural complexes and farms’ purchases. The volume of households’ purchases amounted to 18.1 bln RUB (retail prices, VAT included) in October 2019. Pet medicines account for 92% of the volume in monetary terms, while livestock medicines – for around 8%.

Between January and September 2019, Russia imported 532.3 thousand units, 13.1 bln RUB worth of pharmaceutical drugs for clinical trials (CT) (customs clearance prices, VAT included). The dynamics in physical terms (units) are only +0.4%. The dynamics in monetary terms (rubles) are much higher, +9.8%. The importers were most active in Q3 2019.

Between January and October 2019, Russia manufactured 341.3 bln RUB worth of pharmaceutical drugs (manufacturers’ prices, VAT included), which is in monetary terms (rubles) 23.6% higher than that of the same period in 2018. In physical terms, the dynamics are only +0.8% in units and +0.4% in minimum dosage units (MDU). The total production volume is 3.5 bln units and around 57.9 bln MDUs.

12/5/2019 Database Update: Import of Veterinary Drugs, Feed Supplements, and Veterinary APIs to Russia (September 2019)

Between January and September 2019, Russia imported 21.2 bln RUB worth of veterinary dugs (customs clearance prices, VAT included), which is monetary terms (rubles) 13.2% higher than that of the same period in 2018. The dynamics of the import of feed supplements are -11.5% in monetary terms (25 bln RUB). The dynamics of the API import are +63.1% in monetary terms (2.4 bln RUB).

40% of doctors consider it necessary to adjust the timing of the drug labeling system implementation in order to prevent interruptions in drug care, according to an online survey by the RNC Pharma analyst company and the Doktor Na Rabote (Doctor at Work) social network for doctors. Another 22% of the respondents believe that labeling is not required at all and that there are other effective methods to combat counterfeit and substandard pharmaceutical drugs (in particular, criminal law).
