The leaders fought for tenths of a percent, slowly diversified, and if someone left the race, it was due to understandable and even expected reasons. However, the financial crisis changed absolutely everything.

2/27/2017 Rating of Russian Retail Pharmacies (2016)

It is very difficult to sum up the results of 2016 for the Russian pharmaceutical retail industry in one word. Despite the very pessimistic beginning and rather moderate optimism of the spring-summer season, the rate at which the demand was recovering in physical terms during the last months of 2016 surprised every single analyst. The development of the market is also quite optimistic, so that if the general economic situation does not deteriorate, we will be able to say that the crisis as ended and the industry had entered the phase of quantitative growth.

2/17/2017 Database Update: Pharmaceutical Drug Import to Russia (January 2017)

In January 2017, Russia imported 29.8 bln RUB worth of ready-made drugs (free circulation prices) and 6.8 bln RUB worth of in-bulk drugs, which are 20% and 90% higher than those of the same period of 2016, respectively. We saw the dynamics of the in-bulk import as high 8 months ago.

2/15/2017 Database Update: Veterinary API Import to Russia (December 2016 and Yearly Performance)

In 2016, Russia imported 1.57 bln RUB worth of veterinary APIs (free circulation prices), which is more than 40% higher than that of 2015. However, this is not the maximum: in 2015, we saw a 160% increase. In physical terms, the import amounted to 837.7 tons, which is 52% higher than that of 2015.

In 2016, Russia imported 59.3 bln RUB worth of APIs (free circulation prices), which is in monetary terms only 3.3% higher than that of 2015, making it the lowest increase over the past 6 years. In physical terms, the API import has shown the biggest increase, with 24%.

1/31/2017 Dispatch Volumes of Pharmaceutical Drugs from Russian Manufacturers (December 2016)

In 2016, Russian manufacturers produced and dispatched 314.5 bln RUB worth of pharmaceutical drugs (dispatch prices, VAT included), which is in monetary terms 23.7% higher than that of 2015 and is way above the average performance. In physical terms, the dispatch volumes have risen by 7.6% over the year, with 4.3 bln units of pharmaceuticals.

1/24/2017 Database Update: Veterinary Drug and Feed Supplement Import to Russia (December 2016)

In 2016, Russia imported 22 bln RUB worth of veterinary drugs (free circulation prices) and 9.3 bln RUB worth of feed supplements and premixes. Over the year, the veterinary drug import has risen by 12.7% in monetary terms, while the feed supplement import has risen only by 4.4%.

1/19/2017 Database Update: Pharmaceutical Drug Import to Russia (December 2016)

In 2016, Russia imported 493.1 bln RUB worth of ready-made pharmaceuticals (free circulation prices). The in-bulk imports amounted to 100.2 bln RUB. In monetary terms, the imports of ready-made products and in-bulk products have increased by 8.1% and 17.1%, respectively. In physical terms, the import of ready-made products has increased by 0.5%, while the in-bulk import has a bigger rise.
