Survey by RNC Pharma and Doktor Na Rabote (Doctor at Work): 76% of Russian Doctors Do not Find Mass COVID Vaccination Necessary
Only 19% of doctors advocate mass vaccination of the population against COVID-19 and consider it necessary to introduce the vaccine into the National Preventive Vaccination Calendar, according to an online survey by the RNC Pharma analyst company and the Doktor Na Rabote (Doctor at Work) social media service for doctors.
53% of the doctors believe that mass vaccination is useless, because the current strain of the virus will lose its virulence, and new strains will require new vaccines. There were significant differences in response rates of male and female doctors; 58% of the female respondents and 41% of the male respondents do not find mass vaccination necessary. The male respondents were more likely to believe that mass vaccination is necessary (25%).
About 10% of the doctors believe that it is necessary to vaccinate only those specialists who fall into the risk group, that is, are at risk of infection with COVID-19 due to their professional duties. The same number of the respondents (10%) believes that it is necessary to develop a production technology for the vaccine and reserve production capacities in order to be able to produce significant volumes of the vaccine as quickly as possible in case the epidemiological situation worsens.
