Database Update: Pharmaceutical Drug Import to Russia (January 2018)
In January 2018, Russia imported 30.6 bln RUB worth of ready-made drugs (free circulation prices), which is in monetary terms 1.5% higher than that of January 2017, and 6.5 bln RUB worth of in-bulk drugs, which is 4.4% lower than that of January 2017. In physical terms, Russia imported 126.8 mln units of ready-made drugs, which is 0.2% higher than that of January 2017. As for MDU (minimum dosage units), Russia imported 2.8 bln MDUs of ready-made and in-bulk drugs. The dynamics of the in-bulk import are 58%, which contributed to the positive dynamics of the import if calculated in MDU (+4%). However, the import of ready-made drugs has fallen by 3.7% if calculated in MDU.
Valenta and Merck Group were among the leaders in the in-bulk import in January 2018. In physical terms, the import of Valenta in-bulk drugs has increased by nearly 60 times thanks to Trimedat. The import of Merck Group in-bulk drugs has increased by 35 times thanks to Concor and Glucophage.
The leader in the import of ready-made drugs is Gedeon Richter, with a 3.1 times growth, followed by Shreya Life Sciences, with a 2.2 times growth. Mydocalm and Airtal contributed to the progress of Gedeon Richter, while Suprima-LOR and Penzital contributed to Shreya Life Sciences.
