Between January and May 2018, Russia imported 37.7 bln RUB worth of APIs (free circulation prices, VAT included), which is in monetary terms 34% higher than that of the same period of 2017. In physical terms, the dynamics are -3.3%, with the import amounting to 4,600 tons of APIs.

The dynamics of the import of technical APIs in monetary terms turned out to be twice as high as that of the import of pharmacopoeial APIs. In physical terms though, the dynamics of the import of technical APIs are -9.7%, which was determined by the dynamics of May 2018, with 1,140 tons of APIs and a 19% decrease.

The new importing countries are Norway, Brazil, and Malaysia, with a total import of 29 mln RUB and Norway being the leader. Russia imported only one product from Norway, which is deproteinized calves blood gemoderivat, imported by Takeda.

Among the 15 pharmacopoeial APIs with the best dynamics in monetary terms, acidum ursodeoxycholicum and perindoprilum have a 2.7 and 2 times increase, respectively. acidum ursodeoxycholicum was imported mostly by Prom.medik.rus and Obolenskoye, while perindoprilum was imported by Servier and KRKA Rus. Atazanavirum has the highest dynamics among the imported technical APIs, with a 72 times increase. It was mostly imported by Pharmasyntez for the production of Simanod.
