Database Update: Import of Veterinary Drugs, Feed Supplements, and Veterinary APIs to Russia (November 2018)
Between January and November 2018, Russia imported 58.5 bln RUB worth of veterinary products (free circulation prices), which is in monetary terms 11.4% higher than that of the same period of 2017. The dynamics of the import of feed supplements in monetary terms are the highest, +11% (33.5 bln RUB), followed by veterinary drugs (+12.2%, 23.3 bln RUB) and veterinary APIs (+8.9%, 1.7 bln RUB.)
In physical terms, only veterinary drugs have positive dynamics (+3%). If calculated in minimum dosage units (MDU), the dynamics are +26%. The dynamics of the import of veterinary APIs and feed supplements are -21.3% and -11.2%, respectively.
Over the period, the biggest import volume of feed supplements in monetary terms was from Belgium, while South Korea still has the highest dynamics (an 11 times increase.) As for the new importing countries, Russia started to import importing feed supplement Aflabond by Montajat from Saudi Arabia. In November 2018, Russia started to import Lactis ZOO by B&S from Japan.
Saudi Arabia is the absolute leader in the veterinary drug import dynamics (a 17 times increase), followed by Vietnam (a 3.4 times increase.) Between January and November 2018, Russia started to import from Portugal (Surolan by Eli Lilly), Serbia (Coligen G by Fish Corp. 2000 and 4 products by Vetmedic) and Croatia (Geomicin by Genera.)
As for veterinary APIs, Bulgaria and Germany have the biggest dynamics (a 2.2 increase.) Between January and November 2018, Russia started to import from Taiwan (Xylazine by Standard Chem and Pharm) and Italy (Megestrole Acetate by Farmabios.)
