Survey by RNC Pharma and Medvestnik: 75% of Russian Doctors Believe CME Content Quality Is Low
More than half of Russian doctors (51.8%) believe that the CME system in its current form is “a pure formality”, according to a survey conducted by the RNC Pharma analyst firm and the platform for doctors Medvestnik. The second most popular answer, chosen by 15.4% of the respondents, was “most of the courses are very general and with minimal value.” Another 7.6% of the study participants say that the content quality is “very low”, since there are a lot of inaccuracies obvious to a specialist.
Another answer that does not favor the CME system much, at least in terms of the content relevance, chosen by 8%, was “I prefer to study specialized literature, including works written in a foreign language, on my own.”/p>
Only 13.9% of the doctors expressed a positive attitude towards the content quality. Notably, this answer option had pronounced gender differences; female doctors picked it three times more often than male ones.
However, there seem to be another problem with the CME content. Out of those who chose the “other” option, many note that the offered educational courses contain “a lot of obvious advertising.”
