Database Update: Pharmaceutical Drug Export from Russia (November 2018)
Between January and November 2018, Russia exported 23.5 bln RUB worth of pharmaceutical drugs (customs duties included, exports to the EEU countries excluded), which is in monetary terms 24.5% higher than that of the same period of 2017. In physical terms, the dynamics are -10.3% (473.6 mln units.)
In November 2018, the export amounted to 4.6 bln RUB, which is 240% higher than that of November 2017. Krasfarma and Sanofi have extremely high dynamics, a167 and 41 times increase, respectively. In November 2018, Russia exported 2.84 bln RUB worth of pharmaceuticals, which is 24% higher than that of November 2017.
Over the period, Russia was exporting to 92 countries (the EEU countries excluded). Ukraine still tops the list, accounting to 26% of the total export. Uzbekistan and Germany follow with 16% and 7%, respectively. There are also 16 new countries on the list, including Sudan. To Sudan, Russia exported only one drug, Yellow Fever Vaccine by Chumakov Federal Scientific Center for Research and Development of Immune and Biological Products of RAS.
Among the top 20 Russian trademarks, insulin drugs Apidra and Lantus by Sanofi have the best dynamics of the period (a 266 and 172 times increases in monetary terms, respectively.) However, before being exported to Germany, these pharmaceuticals had previously been in-bulk imported to Russia. The export of antibiotic Cefepime has also increased (by 25 times in monetary terms); it was exported by 6 companies, mostly by Krasfarma.
