Database Update: Import of Veterinary Drugs, Feed Supplements, and Veterinary APIs to Russia (September 2018)
Between January and September 2018, Russia imported 47.4 bln RUB worth of veterinary products (free circulation prices), which is in monetary terms 15.3% higher than that of the same period of 2017. The import of feed supplements amounted to 27.3 bln RUB, with a 16.9% increase. The import of veterinary drugs amounted to 18.7 bln RUB, with a 13.6% increase. The import of veterinary APIs amounted to 1.5 mln RUB, with a 15% increase.
The dynamics in physical terms are -13.3% for veterinary APIs, -7% for feed supplements, and -0.6% for veterinary drugs.
Among feed supplements, 74% of the import in monetary terms is for metabolism boosters, 14% for digestive systems drugs, and 12% for food quality boosters. Metabolism booster Metamino by Evonik accounts for 9% of the import. Between January and September 2018, Evonik imported 4 product names to Russia.
As for veterinary drugs, the top three among EphMRA second level group are vaccines (43%), others (23%), and systemic antibacterial drugs (19%.) Swine vaccine Ingelvac by Boehringer accounts for 8% of the import.
API for antibacterial drug Tysolin tartrate accounts for 13% of the total veterinary API import. Between January and September 2018, it was imported by 5 companies, but Huvepharma accounted for most of the import (82%.) The main importer was Russian Simbio.
