Rating of Russian Retail Pharmacies (Q1 – Q3 2017)
The third quarter of 2017 turned out quite eventful for the Russian pharmaceutical retail industry, with various deals, including rather big ones, as well as a further discussion of certain regulatory issues, in particular, the possibility of selling pharmaceutical drugs in supermarkets.
Everyone is tired of discussing the possibility of the expansion of selling points of pharmaceuticals, which started in 2014. Neither professionals nor large retailers who slowly but surely develop their own projects in the pharmaceutical industry can find any obvious expediency in this. Nevertheless, the government is constantly bringing this issue.
Transactions have also become common and are growing in number. Despite the size of the companies, no one was surprised by the change of the owners of Klassika and Farmakor, at least because of the striking similarity of the fate of these companies before the sale and the format of the transactions.
So, with detailed consideration, the superficial diversity of the information flow leaves a feeling of deja vu, which is very symptomatic, considering quite obvious signs of the stagnation of the Russian pharmaceutical market.
