In 2016, Russia imported 1.57 bln RUB worth of veterinary APIs (free circulation prices), which is more than 40% higher than that of 2015. However, this is not the maximum: in 2015, we saw a 160% increase. In physical terms, the import amounted to 837.7 tons, which is 52% higher than that of 2015.

The product list has also undergone a number of significant changes. In 2016, Russia imported 72 veterinary API names against 61 in 2015. Over the past 7 years, the number of imported veterinary API names has increased by more than 3 times.

China is the main supplier of veterinary APIs to Russia, with around 80% of all the imported veterinary APIs in monetary terms in 2016. During the year, the import of veterinary APIs from China was increasing at a rate significantly ahead of the average market growth rate, while in 2015 Russia imported only 73% from China. Bulgaria comes second with 13%, while India is third with 3.6%.

The main importer is Protek SVM, with 15.9% of all import. Vetpharmservice comes second with 15.6%, and The VIC Group is third with 15.6%. The share of The VIC Group has increased by 2.3 times over the year.
