Between January and May 2017, Russian manufacturers produced and dispatched 135.5 bln RUB worth of pharmaceutical drugs (dispatch prices, VAT included), which is in monetary terms 11.1% higher than that of the same period of 2016. This is twice as low as the dynamics of 2015-2016. In physical terms, the dispatch volume is 1.73 bln units, which is 3.6% higher than that of the same period of 2016.
After the successful period between January and March, Russian manufacturers did rather poorly in April and May. The dispatch dynamics were -1% in April and -3% in May. In physical terms, the dynamics show double-digit rates, which partially compensates the decline in March.
Between January and May 2017, Russia imported 230.2 bln RUB worth of ready-made and in-bulk drugs (customs clearance included), which is in monetary terms 3.2% higher than that of the same period of 2016. This is due to a significant decline in the in-bulk import (-25%), while the dynamics of the import of ready-made drugs are 10.5%.
